That is fascinating! I can see that it is a learning project, with different techniques here and there, but what a job to tackle! Do you imagine a story behind this scene? It would make an awesome start (or, middle) of an animation.

Yes, this piece is supposed to suggest a story. As it stands, I picture a knight awakening a guardian, a spirit of the land, to help his kingdom. He is in awe, and slightly afraid.

This next month I need to come up with many ideas for a one-minute animation piece for my senior thesis. :3 I may keep playing with this idea, though if I want to include much more than the short scene described here, I may run too long!

I like it, and good luck! In terms os standard iconography, the walkway is inviting, though the gryphon is forbidding. And, of course, the sword in the stone is clearly a hero's sword, yet is also likely the only thing that could be used against the gryphon, depending on how things go next. So many possibilities! I hope we see some of them.

Hrm, I like this as well, rather intriguing. It honestly reminds me of the last quest for glory game (which is a good thing) in that the style is similar. And I'm not entirely sure what it is, but the guardian doesn't feel as well done as the rest of the piece. I really enjoy the style and composition though, and the pose of the figure definitely conveys emotion. Nicely done =)
